General election: Young people feel 'disillusioned and disenfranchised'
Fewer young people were registered to vote in the last Assembly election than any other age group.

Parliament has been dissolved; the deadline to register to vote has passed, and the Conservative Party has now become embroiled in a betting scandal.
With a couple of weeks still to go before the general election on July 4, our columnist Maria Hassan looks at the disconnect between electoral politics and young people.
The Northern Ireland Youth Forum has said young people feel “their voices are lost within systems” and they are “overlooked and undervalued in the political decision-making process”.
Young people may be dissatisfied with electoral politics but this does not mean they are politically disengaged… When it comes to organising, petitioning, and issue-sharing online, youth engagement is high.

Families gathered in the village of Loughinisland, Co Down, earlier this week to mark the 30th anniversary of the massacre of six Catholic men by the Ulster Volunteer Force.
The Detail editor Trevor Birney and former senior journalist Barry McCaffrey attended a sold-out screening of No Stone Unturned, their landmark 2017 documentary into the atrocity, at Queen’s Film Theatre in Belfast last week.

We’d like to thank everyone who attended, including the victims’ families, and those who took part in a panel discussion about the impact of the film.
As Barry reminded the audience, the fall-out from the documentary is continuing as revelations continue to emerge in an extraordinary legal case around police surveillance of journalists and others.
Those who carried out the atrocity have never been brought to justice.

Why vote in Northern Ireland at all when they throw out British citizens? https://theworldaccordingtoraymond.wordpress.com/ I have phoned The Detail twice, but even they are not interested.
